Success in racing requires ambition, integrity, robustness, rigour and commitment. To put such a vision into practice requires the application of these characteristics to genuine carbon reduction and a consistent message.
We worked with the team to assess the emissions associated with every operation – from manufacturing the cars and the fuel used for racing, to the emissions associated with taking people and equipment around the world. We suggested proactive steps and showed how HRF1 could become ‘carbon positive’ by influencing others – particularly the millions of spectators.
The team has also shifted its partnership model, attracting companies that choose to be associated with the same message and are themselves engaging in a carbon journey.
The car itself also exhibits an invitation to engage with climate change via the www.myearthdream.com website. Fans and others visit this to learn more and pledge actions that can start to make a difference.
